The Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose Welcomes New Member; A New PATH Joins the Fight to Stop Opioid Overdose

Press Release

Rockville, MD (February 27, 2018) – The Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose (CSOO) is proud to announce A New PATH (Parents for Addiction Treatment and Healing) as a new member of the coalition. A New PATH works with families, individuals in recovery, healthcare professionals and community leaders to reduce the stigma associated with addictive illness through education and compassionate support and to advocate for therapeutic rather than punitive drug policies.

“A New PATH has been an outspoken voice for families and individuals affected by addiction, and we are excited to have them join the Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose,” said Dr. Corey Waller, Chair of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) Legislative Advocacy Committee. “We look forward to working with them to educate policymakers and the public on addiction as a chronic disease and to advocate for policies to combat addiction.”
