Rockville, MD (February 12, 2019) – The Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose (CSOO) is pleased to welcome the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) to the coalition. ACCP is a professional and scientific society that works to advance clinical pharmacist roles and responsibilities to optimize pharmacotherapy in the prevention and treatment of disease. ACCP is the leading voice in advocating for team-based, patient-centered and patient-engaged policies to improve medication-related care and manage overall health systems costs.

“We are thrilled to have the American College of Clinical Pharmacy as a new member of the Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose,” said Dr. Corey Waller, Chair of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) Legislative Advocacy Committee. “Effective medication management is a critical component to reducing opioid related overdose deaths. We look forward to working with ACCP to increase medication optimization and expand access to high-quality patient care for all who need it.”
