On February 28th, ASAM signed onto a letter with hundreds of organizations to Senators Debbie Stabenow and John Boozeman, Chairwoman and Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and Representatives Glenn Thompson and David Scott, Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Agriculture, asking them to remove a lifetime ban that prevents individuals convicted of a drug felony from receiving Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families TANF) as part of the next Farm Bill.
