ASAM Joins Coalition Urging CMS to Rescind Proposal to Cap Medicaid Payments

On May 20, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule that would set caps on Medicaid Managed Care State Directed Payments and Medicaid Fee-for-Service Targeted Practitioner Payments.

In response, ASAM and fellow members of the Coalition for Whole Health issued a letter to CMS urging the agency to not finalize the proposed rule, which risks negatively impacting clinicians providing substance use disorder treatment and the ability for patients to access care.
