Mission:
The Society is dedicated to increase the access to and improve the quality of addiction treatment in the State of Minnesota. This dedication will be manifest through education of physicians (and physicians in training), other health care professionals, and the public; the promotion of research and prevention; the promotion of the appropriate role physicians must serve in the care of patients with addictions; and the promotion of addiction medicine as a medical specialty to state medical societies, professional organizations, governments, physicians, purchasers and consumers of health care services, and the general public. The purpose of the Society shall also be to work with the parent organization, the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), to accomplish the goals of that organization, especially as they relate to needs in the State of Minnesota.
