ASAM would like to encourage you to use your voice, expertise, and knowledge to increase addiction prevention, treatment, remission, and recovery through volunteer opportunities. Here you will find opportunities to serve on ASAM’s councils, committees, subcommittees as well as task force groups. Terms of service can be short or long-term depending on the charge of the group.

Become an abstract reviewer for the ASAM 54th Annual Conference
ASAM's Annual Conference is the defining event in addiction medicine bringing together all professionals to connect, learn, and inspire. Your efforts will greatly improve the quality of the education that ASAM is able to provide.
Approved reviewers will be asked to review 30-40 poster/session abstracts after the first submission period ends (approximately 6-10 hours of reviewing). The review period for these abstracts will be from January 23rd to February 10th.
2 New JAM Editorial Fellows
The Journal of Addiction Medicine seeks two Editorial Fellows. The positions will start on January 1, 2023, and run through December 31, 2024.
Motivational Interviewing Program Planning Committee
Oversees the development, ongoing improvement, and evidence-based updates of ASAM’s Motivational Interviewing workshop and curriculum including both live and enduring activities. Call for applications closes 12/31/2022.
Membership Council Volunteer Application - Call for Volunteers
The Membership Council is responsible for supporting the vision, mission, and goals outlined in the strategic plan. The Council will assess and recommend products, services, and programs that will add value to the membership. Call for applications is open from 8/31/2022 – 9/15/2022.
