ASAM would like to encourage you to use your voice, expertise, and knowledge to increase addiction prevention, treatment, remission, and recovery through these opportunities.
ASAM encourages you to use your voice, expertise, and knowledge to increase addiction prevention, treatment, remission, and recovery through volunteer opportunities. Here you will find opportunities to serve on ASAM’s councils, committees, subcommittees as well as task force groups. Terms of service can be short or long-term depending on the charge of the group.
Opportunities will be posted throughout the year so come back often to see what is available. ASAM Committees and Councils are comprised of members only. Subcommittees, Writing Committees, and Task Forces may be comprised of members and non-members.
Forensic Addiction Medicine SIG Champion
The Forensic Addiction Medicine SIG is seeking a volunteer Champion to help educate members on the intersection of addiction medicine and the law, foster community engagement, and advance the practice of forensic addiction medicine. If you have experience in forensic addiction medicine and a passion for leadership, collaboration, and member engagement, we encourage you to apply.

The Primary Care & Family Medicine SIG is seeking a volunteer Champion to help promote addiction education within primary care and family medicine. If you have experience integrating addiction prevention, screening, treatment, or education into primary care settings and are interested in supporting member engagement and collaboration, we encourage you to apply.

The Child & Adolescent Addictions SIG is seeking a volunteer Champion to help advance the prevention, education, and treatment of childhood and adolescent addiction disorders. Behavioral Addictions SIG Champion
The Behavioral Addictions SIG is seeking a volunteer Champion to help connect professionals and researchers focused on behavioral addictions, including gambling, gaming disorder, and food addiction. If you have experience, clinical interests, research, advocacy, or other involvement related to behavioral addictions and would like to help grow this community, we encourage you to apply.

Journal of Addiction Medicine Editorial Fellowship Program – Application Open
The Journal of Addiction Medicine (JAM) seeks 3 Editorial Fellows to serve a 2-year term with JAM. Applicants should have at least 2 years of addiction research experience; hold an MD, DO, PhD, DSc, or PsyD degree (or equivalent); have completed clinical specialty training; and hold faculty positions at the instructor or assistant professor level or an equivalent junior faculty level. Fellows will commit to 3-4 hours a week and participate in weekly 30-minute conference calls with the editorial team.
