ASAM Submits Comments on the Administration's 2017 Drug Control Strategy
ASAM led a coalition letter to the Acting Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy urging the inclusion of the following essential provisions to address the opioid misuse and overdose epidemic in the Administration’s 2017 Drug Control Strategy.
Specifically, the letter advocated for the full funding and implementation of programs to address the opioid misuse and the overdose crisis, preserving and improving access to mental health and addiction treatment services, expanding access to naloxone, and increasing education for prescribers.
