ASAM submitted comments regarding SAMHSA's Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) on the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records (42 CFR part 2). The SNPRM would modify the part 2 regulations to clarify restrictions on lawful holders and their contractors and subcontractors’ use and disclosure of part 2-covered data for purposes of payment and health care operations.
