Your information's security is important to ASAM. In our effort to improve online security of our member portal we are adding a new Security Verification Step.

When you log into your member portal beginning Friday, September 9, you will receive an email from Account Login with subject line: Please Verify Your Account Email. This one-time extra verification step will include a link that you need to click to validate and authorize the email address on your account. Please keep in mind, the link will expire in 7 days.

If you encounter any problems, please contact ASAM at or 301.656.3920

Create Account

  1. When you click "Create Account" below, you will be redirected to a form where you will enter:
    1. A username of your own creation (no spaces allowed)
    2. A valid email address you wish to associate with your ASAM Online account (double-check to ensure there are no typos)
    3. A password of your own creation, which must meet the following standards:
      1. At least eight characters in total
      2. At least one lower-case letter
      3. At least one upper-case letter
      4. At least one number
      5. At least one special character (like "?", "#", "%", etc.)
  2. After you submit this information, a verification code will be sent to the email address you entered. Retrieve this code from your email, enter it into the form, and submit. Please allow up to ten minutes for the code to be sent to your email address. Check your spam or junk folders in case you don't see it. Do not leave this page until you have received your code.
  3. You will then be directed to the multi-page ASAM portal form where you will fill in more information like your name, address, company, etc. You must allow cookies to continue.
  4. Once you have completed the ASAM portal form, you can opt to sign up for a membership or go directly to your portal home screen ("Return to Home").
  5. Once you're at your portal home screen, click the ASAM logo in the upper left to direct you to the home page. Click "Login". Log in with the username and password you just created. You are now fully signed into the system and can access the e-Learning Center and, if you are a qualified member, the Journal of Addiction Medicine.
