Join 2:00 PM EDT USA Today Twitter Chat July 9th (#heroinchat)

ASAM invites participation in a Twitter chat hosted by USA Today (@USATODAY) with medical reporter Liz Szabo and CDC Director Tom Frieden this Thursday, July 9!

There will be some new data showing the reach of heroin is expanding to more women, Caucasians, and people with insurance or higher incomes. Many of these people’s addiction began with pain pills before shifting to heroin.

The chat is Thursday, July 9th from 2-3 p.m. EDT, using the hashtag #heroinchat. In addition to doctors, counselors and people who have struggled with substance abuse or people who have loved ones struggling with addiction are also encouraged to join.
