We need your help. We have an unprecedented opportunity to improve quality in the field of addiction treatment

by | December 8, 2020

Dear ASAM Colleagues,

We need your help. We have an unprecedented opportunity to improve quality in the field of addiction treatment, but it will only work if we have strong participation by addiction medicine specialists.

ASAM is partnering with the American Psychiatric Association to develop a practice registry for addiction treatment called AMNet. As an AMNet participant, you will use real-time data to engage with your patients and track their outcomes while informing quality improvement efforts.

For the next two years, AMNet users will receive an honorarium of $1,000 based on participation, a tablet computer for patient data entry, free CME training opportunities, free participation in PsychPRO (APA’s national mental health registry), potential credit toward MOC Part IV Certification, and guidance throughout the process of using AMNet.

ASAM believes strongly that this opportunity will help us to address the quality measurement issues with which our field has struggled for so long. It will help us to promote measurement-based care and guide efforts to improve how we care for our patients. It will also be a foundation for future addiction medicine research. But it will only work if we all pitch in.

Please, help to advance our field. Help to improve the quality of care. Join the AMNet project. Visit psychiatry.org/amnet today and take the recruitment survey to see if you qualify. If you have any questions, please contact Anna Pagano, ASAM’s Director of Science, at apagano@asam.org.

Sincerely,

Paul H Earley, MD, DFASAM
