Ten U.S. Senators Circulate Dear Colleague Letter Urging More Funding for the SUD Workforce
Senators Hassan, Murphy, Markey, Brown, Welch, Lujan, Merkley, Warren, Padilla, and Klobuchar circulated a Dear Colleague letter, addressed to the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services (HHS), Education, and Related Agencies, urging increased funding for two critical substance use disorder (SUD) workforce programs. The letter asks Congress to fund the SUD Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR-LRP) at $50 million, and the Addiction Medicine Fellowship (AMF) Program at $30 million, in Fiscal Year 2025.
