Nearly 100 Stakeholders Implore 118th Congress to Urgently Pass Critical Addiction Policies

On March 15th, a diverse array of nearly 100 stakeholders dedicated to enhancing access to high-quality addiction care wrote a letter calling on the 118th Congress to pass critical addiction and mental health policies. Specifically, stakeholders implored Congress to pass S. 3393 - the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Reauthorization Act and S. 644 - the Modernizing Opioid Treatment Access Act ("MOTAA"), the latter of which would expand access to methadone treatment for opioid use disorder. Stakeholders implored Congress to reverse our nation’s escalating addiction and overdose crisis with courageous leadership, and pass legislation that ensures comprehensive utilization of all available tools in the toolbox.
