Texas, Louisiana, and Florida are experiencing an overwhelming catastrophe due to Hurricane Harvey and Irma and the impact of its aftermath. These hurricanes may be dissipating in some areas, but the devastation will continue to impact more of our friends, families, and members.

SAMHSA (800-985-5990) is offering immediate crisis counseling and connecting callers to professionals from the closest crisis center. Staff members answering calls provide confidential counseling, referrals and other needed support services.


The Florida State Emergency Operations Center is seeking healthcare professionals willing to serve in disaster response roles for Hurricane Irma. They have an immediate need for medical personnel including nurses, physicians, emergency medical technicians, paramedics and pharmacists to work in medical needs shelters.

In accordance with section 418.016 of the Texas Government Code, the Office of the Governor temporarily suspends all necessary statutes and rules to allow healthcare providers employed by a hospital and licensed and in good standing in another state to practice in Texas in order assist with the Tropical Depression Harvey disaster response operations.
