The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Courses

The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Courses provide eight hours of required education to qualify for the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine to more than 30 patients in an office-based setting, and covers essential information for providers to identify, assess, diagnose, and manage patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). The course covers the latest information on medications and patient-centered treatments for OUD. ASAM is an approved provider by CSAT/SAMHSA of DATA 2000 training.


Target Audience: This course is designed for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and Certified Nurse Midwives seeking to treat opioid use disorder and prescribe buprenorphine in an office-based setting. All members of the healthcare team are encouraged to take the course.
