BEST 2014:

Learn from the Board Examination Study Tool - the BEST, the 2014 internet-based learning tool that includes study material and competency-based test questions to help prepare examinees in an interactive, engaging, and self-paced format.  Features of the 2014 BEST include:

  • Excerpts from the Principles of Addiction Medicine, Fifth Edition 
  • A large definitions section with many ASAM Board approved definitions
  • Slides from the 2014 ASAM Review Course in Addiction Medicine
  • Links to additional resources such as relevant articles and other publications
  • Tips on taking the exam and information about the day of the exam
  • Over 600 self-assessment questions.  

The 2014 BEST can be accessed through supported mobile devices and tablets and allows users to bookmark pages, highlight text, and take notes about key points for future reference as well as mark sections complete so they can focus study time appropriately. 

Please Note: The 2014 BEST will be available to users until October 31, 2015 at which point it will no longer be available to any users.  It is currently available for purchase at the ASAM store or by clicking the button below.  Information about accessing the BEST will be emailed to all users within one business day of purchasing the BEST. 



BEST 2015:

All registrants for the ASAM Review Course in Addiction Medicine 2015 will have automatic access to the 2015 BEST which is still in production.  All registrants will be emailed access information to the 2015 BEST in the late spring of 2015 when it becomes available.  The 2015 BEST will build upon the content in the 2014 BEST and slide decks from the 2014 and 2015 courses and an updated self-assessment question section.
