Pre-Conference Workshop & Course

  • A separate fee is required to attend either The ASAM Pain & Addiction Course or The ASAM Motivational Interviewing Workshop.
  • One registered participant per pre-conference workshop or course.
  • Workshop/Course will be held Thursday, April 12, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.
  • Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and morning and afternoon refreshment breaks.
  • Both course and workshop receive access to the course via The ASAM e-Learning Center.

Full Registration

The ASAM 49th Annual Conference begins at 5:30 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall.

Full registration includes all conference sessions and plenaries, access to ASAM Annual Conference via The ASAM e-Learning Center and the Annual Conference App; (Members Only) Friday Breakfast; Continental Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday; Refreshment Breaks, and multiple receptions in and outside the exhibit Hall.


Single Day Registration

Single Day registration does not qualify for access to The ASAM 49th Annual Conference via the ASAM e-Learning Center.

ASAM Awards Luncheon

The ASAM Annual Awards Luncheon is an opportunity to honor those making notable contributions to the field of addiction medicine and policy.

Conference registration does not include tickets to The ASAM Annual Awards Luncheon. Be sure to purchase a ticket ($75/person) by selecting the Awards Luncheon option when registering for the conference. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to draw insight and inspiration from outstanding award winners.

You will see and hear about all awardees, with a special address from the John P. McGovern Award recipient.

Off-Site Learning Experience - Betty Ford Center, Part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation

Note: There are less than 75 spots available. Be sure to register early to reserve your spot. Please be aware that this session is concurrent with the Pre-Conference Courses.

Experience the world-famous Betty Ford Center in San Diego. Learn about their unified system of care, moving from expert clinical intervention to self-management, and advancements in medical education on addiction. Programs covered include Comprehensive Opioid Response with Twelve Steps (COR-12™), Young Adult Program, feedback-informed treatment, uses of technology in recovery environments, and Medical and Professional Education (MPE). A separate fee of $35 is required to attend this special tour/educational event and transportation is included. A portion of all registration proceeds will be donated to the Betty Ford Center.

Guest Registration (For Full Conference Registrants Only)

Price $175/Per Person

A guest is defined as a spouse, significant other, friend or an adult child (18 or over) who is not in an industry-related occupation. Co-workers or associates in the industry may not use the guest registration category. 

Guest registrations gain access to all ASAM events and activities, with the exception of the Awards Luncheon, Pre-Conference Course and Workshop, and the e-Learning Center. See registration fee structure for complete details and costs.


ASAM’s Mentoring Program (Deadline: Monday, March 19, 2018)

Build a professional relationship that will last throughout your career. Volunteer to be a mentor or a mentee when you register for the ASAM Annual Conference. Mentors and mentees will be paired before the conference and can meet-up on-site to share wisdom and insight.


Fun & Activities

There is no additional fee to take part in any of the exciting ASAM Annual Conference activities. Certain activities including the Meet & Eat Dutch Treat Dinners, Morning Fun Walk/Runs and Morning Yoga are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested participants should sign-up on-site near the ASAM Registration Area.


Registration Cancellation Policy

$150 cancellation fee will apply to all cancellations received through Monday, February 12, 2018.  There will be no refunds on cancellations received after Monday, February 12, 2018.  All cancellation requests must be made in writing and sent to: ASAM Meetings Department, 11400 Rockville Pike, Suite 200, Rockville, MD  20852 or e-mail: meetings@asam.org.
