The Ohio DEA DATA 2000 Waiver Training is a one-and-a-half-day waiver training on the treatment of opioid use disorder. Covering a variety of topics, the trainings will provide the necessary training to obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine and additional information on implementation. Clinicians will receive a reimbursement, after attending the one-and-a-half-day training and obtaining an X-Number on their DEA license.

Option 1: Free One-and-A-Half-Day Live Trainings

Prescribers may take a free 1.5-day course to obtain the DEA DATA 2000 Waiver. ASAM will host the first day of training that provides the 8-hours course to meet federal requirements in communities across the state. The course covers all medications and treatments for opioid use disorder, and provides the required education needed to obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. This material will be followed by a half-day of training from experts around Ohio that will enhance the prescriber’s knowledge about opioid prescribing and buprenorphine policies (e.g., low-dose prescribing according to federal and state guidelines and DEA guidance on documentation).

Option 2: Free Online Training Courses

Physicians that do not have time for the live course may take an online module at their own pace. ASAM is offering the full 8-hour training to meet federal requirements for the DATA 2000 Waiver.
