Position Title: Manager, Grants/Development

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

ASAM is a medical professional society of over 5,500 members with a staff of 40 and a $10M annual operating budget. It is an energetic, fast-paced organization with multi-faceted opportunities in addiction medicine.

ASAM is looking for an experienced, talented individual to fill a key position. This position will serve as the primary grant writer and development manager responsible for aligning organization goals with funding partners. This person must be able to work across the organization with different stakeholders. This position is a regular, full time position with the staff person located in our Rockville, MD office.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess new funding partners and opportunities.
  • Develop strategies to align ASAM initiatives to grant opportunities.
  • Manage, write and submit grants and timelines in cooperation with ASAM staff and subject matter experts.
  • Assist in the management and tracking of all financial elements of the grant budget, reporting and financial reconciliation.
  • Manage relationships and ongoing communication with current and potential supporters and various stakeholders.
  • Proactively maintain ASAM in federal, state and private grant systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least three to five years of experience in grant writing and grant management.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage relationships and partnerships.
  • Strong writing skills including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Processes high attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Experience with Donor Perfect or similar CRM.
  • Experience working in health care or with non-profit organizations is desired.
  • Knowledge of MemberSuite is a plus.
  • Professional Credential such as the Certified Grant WriterⓇ credential is a plus.
  • Some travel required for meetings, presentations and events.

Salary Range:
$63,000-$70,000 (with a robust benefit package of low cost platinum health care plan, 401K matching and contributions, generous holiday, vacation and sick leave package)
