ASAM is a fast-growing professional medical society representing over 6,200 physicians, clinicians, and associated professionals who are leading the movement to transform America's addiction treatment infrastructure and expand access to research-validated, results-based care in the field of addiction medicine. This is an important time to be joining ASAM. Landmark legislation, H. R. 6, the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, now provides significant resources in support of opioid use disorder prevention, recovery, and treatment. This funding allows communities to dramatically expand patient access to high quality, evidence-based, comprehensive care. Training, education, and standards are the keys to success, and ASAM is at the forefront of that work.
