Membership Categories and Requirements
Regular (Full) $455 - National Dues
Full members must be licensed to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine in the United States.
International $300 - National Dues
International members reside or work outside the U.S. or its territories. Members must maintain valid medical licenses in their country or province.
Associate (Non-Physicians) $250 - National Dues
Associate members must be sponsored by a current ASAM member in good standing and have a degree in one of the eligible professions.
Early Career Physicians $235- National Dues
Early Career Physicians are in their first two years after completing an accredited residency or fellowship program OR in their first two years of practicing addiction medicine on a full-time basis. Members must be licensed to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
Resident $35 - National Dues
Interns, residents or fellows serving in an approved hospital or fellowship program. Members must provide proof of current enrollment in a residency program and must have a valid license in localities where required.
Student $0 - National Dues
Student members must be enrolled and in good standing in formally accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical schools. Students must submit a certifying letter from their school upon application for membership. Student membership is complimentary.
Retired $140 - National Dues
Retired members have completely retired from the practice of medicine or osteopathy and are not required to maintain a valid allopathic or osteopathic medical license.
