Abstract Awards Competition

ASAM Annual Conference Program Planning Committee Award

The ASAM Annual Conference Program Planning Committee Award will be given to the primary author of the submitted poster abstract receiving the highest score for its scientific merit. The award will be made on the basis of new ideas or findings of importance to the field of addiction medicine, their methodology and clarity of presentation, as judged by the Committee. This award will be awarded during the regular submission period.

 


 

ASAM Late-Breaking Abstract Award

The ASAM Late-Breaking Abstract Award will be given to the primary author of the submitted abstract that receives the highest score during the late-breaking abstract submission period.  The award will be made on the basis of new ideas or findings of importance to the field of addiction medicine, their methodology and clarity of presentation, as judged by the Committee. This award will be awarded during the late-breaking abstract submission review period. 


 

ASAM Young Investigator Award

ASAM will recognize the best poster (based on a submitted abstract) by a Young Investigator. This award is presented to a poster’s primary author who is within five years of the completion of a medical residency or receipt of a doctoral degree (eg, MD, PhD, DSc, etc.). A primary author who fits this category should indicate so on the abstract form. This award may be awarded during the regular or late-breaking submission period.
