Continuing Medical Education Credits

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

ASAM has designated this live activity, the 45th Annual Medical-Scientific Conference, for a maximum of 21 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.    Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 ASAM has designated this live activity, The ASAM Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine--A Live Course, for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ASAM has designated this live activity, The ASAM Pain & Addiction Course:  Common Threads XV--The Agony and the Partial Agonist, for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ASAM has designated this live activity, The New ASAM Criteria and Criteria Software Course, for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.   


ABAM Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC)

The Annual Medical-Scientific Conference and its Pre-Conference Courses have been approved by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) for the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program for the CME requirement for Part II:  Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment.

 


Other Continuing Education Credits

Americian Academcy of Family Physicians (AAFP)

This live activity, The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 45th Annual Medical Scientific Conference & Pre-Conference, with a beginning date of April 10, 2014, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 29 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

[Note:  ASAM Preconferences on April 10, 2014 are each designated for 8 credits out of the 29.  See Pre-Conference titles above]

American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

CME programs accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), or approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) are eligible for Category 2 credit through the AOA. To obtain the Category 2 credit, please email, fax, or mail ASAM CME or certificates of attendance to the Division of CME of the AOA.

American Psychological Association (APA)

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM's) Continuing Medical Education (CME) has been approved for renewal of certification by the APA College of Professional Psychology. ASAM CME credits may be applied toward the APA's "Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders."

National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC)

ASAM has been approved as a National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Education Provider, #152. All applying for NAADAC credit should report their hours directly to NAADAC.

Continuing Credit Units (CEUs)

Non-physician participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the activity and an on-line evaluation confirming their participation. Participants should submit his/her certificate of attendance to their professional organization/institute.
