Currently, NHS is seeking a Medical Director for its Eastern Region.  The position will be located just outside of Philadelphia, PA and will oversee the following service lines: Mental Health; Substance Abuse; Children's; and I/DD.
 
General Responsibilities:
1. Oversee clinical practice sites within the Eastern Region of NHS, including the following locations: PA (Philadelphia; Montgomery County; Delaware County; Bucks County; Chester County); NJ; DE.
2. Provide direction to Medical Services Office, which is the central coordinating office for hiring, credentialing, and monitoring all NHS Eastern Region physicians and nurses, including temporary or agency staff.
3. Conduct annual performance reviews of psychiatric section chiefs, psychiatrists, Nursing direct, and Administrative Assistant.
4. Develop clinical policies, procedures and standards of care relating to medical / psychiatric care for patients in a variety of NHS settings.
5. Develop forms and best practice tools for “best practices" provision of care.
6. Chair Morbidity and Mortality subcommittee of Peer Review, with responsibility to review untoward outcomes.
7. Interface with County and State offices who monitor care provided by NHS.
8. Responsible for recruitment, hiring, supervision, and retention of all regional adult and child psychiatrists, to include section chiefs, and the MR Director of Nursing and the MH Director of Nursing.
9. Maintain credentialing and HR files for physicians, residents and nurses.
10. Maintain existing contractual relationships with Universities, interface with Department Chairs, and establish and maintain clinical training rotations with new programs.
11. Develop and supervise psychiatry resident clinical rotations.
12. Monitor appropriateness of clinical staffing patterns in all services and provide feedback to supervisor with recommendations.
13. Conduct Medical Staff meetings, arranges CME meetings.

Substance Abuse Counselor

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients in accordance with the client’s treatment plan at the appropriate level of care as required by the ASAM clinical structure.

JOB DUTIES
-Utilize Automated System as primary instrument o complete clinical progress.
-Participate in a minimum of four (4) hours per month of direct clinical supervision, one of which is to be one on one with immediate supervisor.
-Responsible for maintaining appropriate clinical documentation and compliance with record keeping standards as required by regulatory funding agencies and ASAM clinical structure.

 a: When presenting, ensures clinical documentation exists that support    recommendation for either continued
 b: Ensures that UMT treatment recommendations are incorporated in client’s treatment plan
-Maintains productivity and clinical standards as required by treatment plans.
-Respond within the required time frame established by utilization management and Program Supervisor to implement corrective action on any clinical record keeping area that is cited.
-Participate in in-service training and professional development as approved by Program Supervisor.
-Ensures that al certification and licensing requirements are kept active and up to date.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Associates and/or BA/BS preferred
-IAODAPCA certified (CADC)
-Two years of direct client service in a substance abuse treatment setting.
-Knowledge of ASAM and clinical quality assurance standards is a plus.

JOB SUMMARY
Primary responsibilities will focus on conducting an assessment for services for program participants.  Responsible for assessing appropriate levels of care and referrals based upon stated criteria and the identification of appropriate services both within the program and externally.  Outreach will initiate contacts with individuals, groups and organizations in the community, including DHS, police departments, schools, churches, DCFS, Department of Public Aid, Courts, etc.
 
JOB DUTIES
-Utilize clinical assessment tools as primary instrument to conduct the assessment.
-Conduct clinical assessment needed to achieve program projections for service hours; develop initial plan; ensure that appropriate level of participation is determined and complete all necessary forms at the point of intake.
-Provide on-call telephone coverage as needed for screening and scheduling assessments.
-Coordinate initial assessment to ensure case management is included.
-Submit daily reporting of service hours provided along with all other supporting documentation.
-Participate in staff meetings and supervision as scheduled.
-Attend staff development training and seminars as approved by supervisor.
-Screen and schedule appointments for participants.
-Track and report monthly on corrective actions/reports taken to ensure appropriate number of participants are enrolled in program.
-Establish relationships with key individuals within the community as a resource for program participants.
-Conduct and/or participate in speaking engagements to promote the program, as directed.
-Secure participant agreements for mutual referral sources to provided needed services.
-Contact “no-shows”, ascertain reasons for not showing, offering assistance and rescheduling appointments.
-Provide appropriate follow-up services to both program participants and referral contacts for continuity of the program.
-Other related duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field; Master’s preferred.
-At least 3 years of related experience, including progressive supervisory and administrative responsibilities.
-Ability to relate well to youth.
-Must possess NCAC certification
-Must be IAODAPCA certified (CADC)

 

 

Advocate Medical Group

 

A large, multi-specialty group of over 600 physicians representing 30 specialties, seeks an additional internal medicine or family practice physician for a dual position in primary care and addiction medicine.  Physicians of Advocate Medical Group are on staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, repeatedly recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals. The position is full time and involves a mix of daily office visits, inpatient services, including admissions and consults, and resident teaching.

For the addiction medicine component, the selected candidate will participate in clinical teaching rounds with psychiatry and family practice residents, with some medical student interface. They will also be part of the addiction consult service.  Preferred candidates will have prior experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team and must be ASAM certified.  Strong diagnostic abilities and recovery oriented prescribing skills with solid outpatient medication management are key requirements.  Staffings are conducted weekly, and the practice is located in private office space, just a 5 minute drive time from the hospital.

The primary care component will consist of traditional, outpatient management in a multi-specialty clinic across the street from the hospital.  This is a high volume site with a broad array of services including a diabetic education center and multiple imaging modalities.

Addiction Medicine Psychiatry Position in Western New York

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

 

This position will be responsible for providing medical services to the patients of the 65-bed inpatient chemical dependence treatment facility located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Medical services will include diagnosis, detoxification, and administration of the Prometa treatment protocol. Training in the Prometa treatment protocol will be provided.

This facility has been open for four years, and currently averages 30-40 patients.  Three-four of the patients per month are using the Prometa Treatment protocol. Education and training in the Prometa protocol will be provided by the Corporate Medical Director. The Medical Director will be provided office on the premises which may also be used to build a private practice in addiction medicine.

The preferred candidate will be MD or DO board certified in Psychiatry, Family Practice or Internal Medicine who is currently working in addiction medicine or wants to focus on addiction medicine. Chemical Dependency Detox Physician

 

FT position for a physician qualified to provide detoxification services to individuals with chemical dependency. Serenity Lane, a private, not for profit specialty hospital located in Eugene, Oregon, has been treating this population since 1973. We are Joint Commission, CARF, and State of Oregon accredited to provide addiction treatment services. We are a 12 Step, abstinence based program. However, pharmacological interventions for depression, psychosis, and/or other mental health disorders are recognized as appropriate. Ongoing treatment does not include medications that are addictive, such as benzodiazepines, except for purposes of tapering a patient off certain classifications of drugs.

The successful candidate will function as part of a team. The scope of patient care where the physician has full authority is limited to those in the hospital unit. Patients in our residential and outpatient programs are under the responsibility of our clinical team. The Physicians' Health Foundation of Louisiana is seeking an experienced psychiatrist or addictionist to serve as full-time Medical Director.  This position requires clinical experience in addictions and board certification in psychiatry or primary care specialty.  For primary care candidates, ASAM certification is required.  Additional credentials in addiction are preferred for psychiatry candidates.

Chemical Dependency Detox Physician Needed

FT position for a physician qualified to provide detoxification services to individuals with chemical dependency. Serenity Lane, a private, not for profit specialty hospital located in Eugene, Oregon, has been treating this population since 1973. We are Joint Commission, CARF, and State of Oregon accredited to provide addiction treatment services. We are a 12 Step, abstinence based program. However, pharmacological interventions for depression, psychosis, and/or other mental health disorders are recognized as appropriate. Ongoing treatment does not include medications that are addictive, such as benzodiazepines, except for purposes of tapering a patient off certain classifications of drugs.

The successful candidate will function as part of a team. The scope of patient care where the physician has full authority is limited to those in the hospital unit. Patients in our residential and outpatient programs are under the responsibility of our clinical team. It is imperative that the candidate be comfortable working with professionals in disciplines other than medicine and be willing to follow their directives.
